FGSH Move-In Overview

Thank you for choosing to live on campus. 


» Move-In Checklist

  • Review FGSH polices
  • What to bring with you (Suggested list. Your needs may vary.)
    • Shower curtain
    • Sheets, pillows, pillow cases, blankets
    • Towels and hygiene products
    • Lamps (no halogen lamps), extension cords and adapters
    • Laptop, computer, printer, and surge protectors
    • Television, Playstation, XBox, Wii, connections and coax cables (all halls have cable access inthe rooms)
    • Cell phone, iPod, iPad, eReader, chargers and connections
    • Flashlight and Tools
    • Alarm clock
    • First aid kit
    • Clothes hangers, iron, and ironing board
    • Sewing kit
    • Laundry supplies (Free onsite laundry facilities). You can use high-efficiency (HE) detergent in all washers.
    • Kitchen supplies (utensils, can opener, dish soap, sponge)
    • Backpack and study/office supplies
    • Athletic wear and gear
    • Decorative features for your room
    • Rugs and carpet
  • What OSU Housing and Residential LIfe provides
    • One bed per student
    • One desk, coffee table, corner table/end table, two occasional chairs, one two-seat sofa (onlyin furnished apartments)
    • Built-in dresser
    • Built-in dining table and 4 dining chairs
    • Closet Space/Storage
    • Blinds
    • Kitchen storage space
    • Stove. Refrigerator. Microwave.
    • Cable TV access
    • Wireless high-speed Internet access
    • Digital telephone access (only OSU telecom compatible to establish a phone in your unit).
  • What not to bring
    • Window air conditioning units
    • Wireless Internet routers/answering machines are not compatible OSU’s digital phone system
    • Waterbeds
    • Ceiling fans
    • Fireworks
    • Firearms
    • Halogen lamps
    • Pets (exceptions are listed in policies)
